Most of fashion photography feels too perfect and thus sterile to me. That’s why I’ve experimented with “documentary” approach to fashion.
Main goal was to show that it’s possible to break classical fashion photography rules by showing reality rather than an illusion. By using flashlights instead of softboxes, ad-hoc scene shooting including fashion shows, minimal make-up and basic contrast/color editing intentionally leaving and sometimes highlighting messy hair and skin marks, I’ve tried to experiment with an idea that all the beauty is in imperfections. Perfection can be boring.
